Last night I put one of my coworkers new systems together. He got a new 1.1 thunderbird, and Abit KT7 board, 256megs PC133Ram, GeForce 64meg Vcard(asus) SB Live 5.1 (Platnium), IBM HD and some other goodies. After formatting the drive on my system and after installing all components on the system we powered it up. He gets 4 beeps followed by the system shutting off. I checked the beep codes and it seems to be the system timmer. I switched everthing out on his system with components on my system and it seems to be isolated to the HD or Motherboard, I can't check his CPU or motherboard because I have an Atlon Slot board and this is a socket board and chip. Today he powered it up again to check the beep count and this time he did not recieve any beeps but he did hear his HD spin, although nothing on the monitor. I would be thankfull for any ideas any of you guys may have. I don't know if this makes a difference but he has a 250watt power supply

I don't know where you learned the problem is the system timer.

According to my infomation, the Award bios only has two beep codes.

Continous beeps - memory problem
One long beep, two short beeps - video problem

All other errors messages are displayed.
