Processor perfoming worse after upgrading to a new gpu

Before upgrading to a new gpu i made a test with userbenchmark and the processor got 70.5% as the score and after changing to the new gpu i made the test again and the processor had a score of 46.9%
is it normal for it to perform worse?

Upgrading your GPU should have no affect on the processor. Were you running more programs on your computer the second time? Also the first benchmark looks a little high to me anyway given the age of the processor. Not a bad one by any means, but a decent age for sure.

Both of the times i had mozilla firefox open. but i can try so that everything is closed

Do that first and we can go from there. Also know that the result should never be exactly the same. You could have also been overclocking on the first and not the second, just a thought.

PSU make and model? Not just the cpu, the ssd are slower too.

it must have been some kind of broblem with firefox because i got 72.1% after closing the programs that were open.
But thanks for the help so i dont have to worry about it being because of the upgrade.
