If you're planning to buy a discrete GPU, there's no need to buy a Ryzen 5 APU. In fact you should look at any Ryzen2 Processor(not the APU). You'll be fine with the Coffeelake i3. The choice of motherboard's will vary per your processor. You should look at a B360 chipset for Coffeelake and B450 for Ryzen(1 or 2).
im picking the APU as it has hyperthreading + a 1600/2600/i5 would go out of budget
What Cpu would you recommend
I would really recommend 2600 as its current king in value/performance. It costs more, but its also providing a lot of horsepower
if you want to use it for quite a while, its worth this 10$ more.
The Ryzen 1600 is 1 dollar more than the 2400g and the Ryzen 1500X is 4 dollars cheaper. (Per PCPARTPICKER.COM)
The 1600 is a 6 core / 12 thread CPU, while the 1500X is the same as the 2400g, 4c/8t. For multi-threaded programs, the Ryzen CPU's at this price point are the better deal, especially if you overclock them, which I hear is quite easy and you can do it on the stock cooler.
