Hello there,

Through my own carelessness, i have damaged many of the pins on my processor and am in need of a replacement. I would like some assistance in choosing a replacement processor that will work with my current build but that will also be good value for money. Unfortunatley I am not very confident in my knowledge of pc components so any help will be most useful. The current processor that I had been using was the,

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 8MB Cache.

This is my current build.

Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz HyperX Memory Kit CL7 1.7V 169488
Asus M4A79XTD EVO Motherboard
Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache
Antec 300 Three Hundred Case
Antec TruePower New 650W Modular PSU 159920
HIS HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card
Samsung SH-S223 22x DVD±RW DL SATA Optical Drive

Ive been using ebuyer so far and have found a few that I think seem alright but im just cautious they might not work or might not be as good value for money.
Any advice anyone can give into a good replacement would be so helpful.

Thank you

I suggest replacing it with another 955. Your current set-up seems to be well balanced. IMO. The prices of Phenom II X4's has dropped recently, around $115 now. I picked up a 965 for $115 two weeks ago.
