Processor Upgrade Help

I have around $330 to spend on a new motherboard and CPU I already have a dual chanel 16gb kit of LPX DDR4 I got from a friend. Since I dont have much money to spend I was looking at the Ryzen 5 1600 which is base clocked at 3.2ghz. I have an AMD phenom II X4 955 which is clocked also at 3.2ghz now I was wondering will the processor preform much better in games then my 955 I don't know much about processors so I have only the set knoledge given by the manufacturer. I play games like DOOM, Rust, and PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS and constantly get anywhere from 80%, 90% and 100% CPU usage and I can see my processor not fairing well with some of the new more demanding games. Please anything helps me out..

according to user benchmark the ryzen is about 80% faster than the 955, single core is about 70%+ and multi-core its like 280%+ faster than your current cpu so yes i think you will notice the difference in some games specially newer ones.
