For video card the R9 280x vs the R9 290x would it be worth the extra cost?
For the Processor the AMD FX 8350 8 core vs the AMD FX 9370 8 core would the 9370 be worth the extra cost?
Meaning will it make it so I don't need to upgrade my PC sooner by a long time or will the frame rate go up by that much? Thanks

Solution
the 9xxx cpu is just a slightly faster cpu. for the money you could put better cooling for less money and over clock the slower cpu if needed. for the gpu intill the 290x with the newer coolers come out and there prices are put online i cant tell you if it better to get two 280x and crossfire them or wait for one 290x.

No and no. How's that?
Let me explain. As far as the FX 9370, there are only 2 or 3 motherboards that support that CPU, mainly due to the fact that its a 220w TDP processor. And none of those boards are very "wallet-friendly". Besides, the performance gains aren't enough to justify the insane price they are selling for. The FX 8350 is a much smarter buy, and very overclockable!
I can't say the same about the R9 290x. Its faster than a GTX Titan but it also runs a lot hotter and is VERY power hungry. Most review sites recommend the R9 290 over the X version. AMD kind of screwed everyone when they bumped the price of the 280x up to $400 and added $150 to the price of the R9 290. I'm not saying those cards aren't worth it, because they are. But I think its taken away their price/performance lead over Nvidia. I've been a HUGE fan of AMD graphics cards for awhile now, but I'm actually thinking of crossing over to the Nvidia side for this generation.
