You have a "Product Key" which came on the box or in with the CD if you
bought XP separately, or the supplier of your computer must give it to you
if you bought a computer with XP installed. Either way, you should have it.

Open the Microsoft product {which you did not mention} and go to Help,
About. You should find the Product ID listed.

Hi

Do you mean the 25 character Product Key (used to install XP) or the PID
(used to contact MS with for a problem)? If the latter - right click on My
Computer and select Properties. The PID is 20 character number you in the
format of:

xxxxx-xxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxx

The Product *ID* is created during the installation process and is
prominently displayed on the General Properties tab of the My Computer
icon.

The Product *Key* is required to perform the installation, and is
either stored on the CD packaging on a bright orange sticker that says
"Do not lose this number," or is on a label affixed to an OEM
computer.
