Product Key Not Valid for Reset?

So basically, I have a Windows 8 OEM version and when I try to reset my computer, it says there was a problem. So I tried using Microsofts tool to get the ISO to install via USB, but when I entered my product key, it says "Product Key entered is not valid for reset" or something along those lines. Any suggestions before buying a retail copy....?
