Question Professional Karaoke Machine I can get at Amazon?

And, in most towns, you REALLY need to do your research because the majority of them, in the US anyway, require you to have a license. Failure to do so results in VERY steep fines and legal problems.

Do you have the licensing in place, because if you don't I would suggest you look into that BEFORE purchasing any equipment. Especially since you already have music equipment installed there. You might already be in violation.

Yeah we do, we actually stream and play music and we comply with the sound contamination regulations too.

I play ALL of my CD+G/MP3+G files from my laptop. It can be done. Unfortunately I can't give you that information on here as it would be a violation of our guidelines since it's technically breaking the protections but you can find that information through a brief search of any of the karaoke forums and you might be able to even find a software player these days on one of the disk retailer sites. It can certainly be done.

I know one guy who uses WinAmp for it, interestingly enough. I didn't know WinAmp was still out there.

That said, the two other DJs that I'm familiar with use VirtualDJ. There's a free "home" version to try out for non-professional use. The paid version allows for professional use, as well as use of controller/mixer hardware.

That's about all I know - I am NOT a DJ, and I use the free version at home to kind of learn/get comfortable with the songs.

What I would like to know is where the hell I can get SoundChoice files LEGALLY, and for personal use only.

Karaoke for directx 3.0. Probably need the beta2 release if you are running windows 10. That's all I'm going to say. Unlike other industries, the karaoke industry and the companies that sell or license the hardware, software and discs, are vigorously aggressive when it comes to searching out and going after companies or individuals so just be aware of that.

This however, is legit, but not free. It is probably the best paid option for a venue though.
