Program Files to hard drive necessary?

I have a SSD for booting up and heavy games but I have hard drive for main storage. Everytime I download something it says that it has a file ready in my program files x86 in my SSD or C: drive for that matter, Do I have to move my program files to my Hard Drive or do I have to make individual maps for my storage?

leave program files on SSD they are not that big normally.

You can use SSD to store Program files and HDD to store large files and docs. Its better you choose SSD to store program files.

its better to have the program files folder on the SSD drive but depending on how big your SSD drive is it may be best to keep your programs on your storage drive

Don't 'move' your Program Files folder to a different drive. Bad things will happen.

Stuff you 'download' can be saved to anywhere. Stuff you 'install' can be installed to anywhere.
There is a difference between 'download' and 'install'.

I would have to agree with USAFRet for the most part, BUT, sometimes you can move certain programs installed BY THE END-USER (you) to another drive and just shortcut them. I currently do this being as by OS is on a very small SSD and not enough space for everything in Program Files. Just don't move ANYTHING starting with Windows or the Common Files folder.

In a nutshell, don't move the whole folder, be selective about it.

Yes, some small applications can be 'moved'.
But it is far, far easier to reinstall, and just tell it where to install while you are doing it. That way, everything will be set up properly.
Windows does not care where you install things, as long as you set it up correctly while you are doing it.

I think he was hoping he wouldn't have to do that, but it is the optimal solution.
