Program files when re-installing windows.

I have my hard drive partitioned into 3 partitions:
1 for my OS (Windows Vista 32-bit)
1 for my program files
and the other for my data.

My question is if I format my vista partition and install a new OS onto it, how will that effect my programs?

You will need to re-install your programs any time you do a fresh install of an OS.
