Program not responding

I recently had purchased a custom computer online, put everything together (6 Months ago). I thought for the longest time it was my graphics card that was giving me this Not responding message whenever i was playing games but when i recently got a new card i found out it wasn't the card. My question is what else could it be? My brother suggested ram but whenever im looking at my computers physical memory when it decides to freeze up on me its at like 30% or lower.
Sorry if i posted this in the wrong section i am new here.

My rig is as follows:

What you can do is try each stick individually seeing is one stick is causing the problem. Also try testing your RAM with memtest86+ to see if there are any errors with the RAM.

I do have the latest drivers for my GPU, I was going to swap out my girls ram chips for mine, then try running it a full day and see what happens. Will update if any bad news!

Very late reply but i have been busy lately, and i was hoping i could fix it myself. But i tried swapping out the ram with a completely new one from my girls computer. I got the not responding twice now in the past like 5 days and i don't know if im crazy but could skype be causing this? I waited like 4minutes and it still wasnt responding so when i quit out of skype it started to respond again. could just be coincedence

Could be something thats running

If ccleaner is installed go to tool=s/startup and uninstall. Bottom right. Save both. Copy and paste whats in startup and whats installed here

I dont know did it. Using P2P programs wont help. You've probably picked up malware downloading something, using it

Wouldnt be surprised if Chrome is the prob. Its full of bugs

Well most of the time don't even have chrome up on the browser, and i reformatted my computer and replaced the ram+graphics card. i know reformatting wont get rid of types of malware but i think it would count for some. Could it be the OS?

bump, if anyone has any solutions or thoughts; though i must say even while my computer is not responding my skype chat works ( i can still hear audio and chat )
