programme crashing

can anyone tell me how to sort a problem
while using variouse programmes including aol dial up and even the windows
backup programme at random intervals the programme im using crashes but i am
still able to start up any other programmes with no problems
this happens about once an hour or more.
ive tried all the obviouse ways to fix this with no luck

Spyware: download, install, update and scan with Ad-aware SE:

If Ad-aware doesn't solve the problem (it usually does) do a Google search
for Spybot Search and Destroy.
