Programs not responding and fans run often

Hey guys, I've recently been having some problems when I open up some software on my laptop (Win 10). The two which have been causing problems are HW Monitor and SpeedFan. I wanted a way to monitor CPU temps and usage as my fan seems to turn on quite often even under low workload (just browsing the internet). I've tried using task manager to end the processes but they never terminate so I always have to end up restarting my whole laptop each time (which is just a pain) I'm wondering if there's any solution to this unresponsiveness from the 2 programs and also a solution to my fans turning on often and my CPU heating up (can get close to 100 degrees celcius under some higher workload like Premiere Pro and After Effects and I think its recommended to keep it under 70 or 80 if possible??). I can provide specs for my laptop if needed! Thanks so much in advance!

Where did you download HW Monitor and SpeedFan from?

Remove both from startup and see if your laptop returns to "normal".

Then, if so, just select one to start and run. See what happens. Then try the other, again, just by itself.

The objective is to determine if one or the other is the problem source or if there is some unique situation created by running both together.

You mentioned Task Manager - good. Also use Resource Monitor to observe what else is happening.

Hey, thanks for the info! The thing is, I only ran one program at a time. First used HW Monitor and it didn't respond so I rebooted, uninstalled it, and changed over to SpeedFan, but that stopped responding as well. They're both installed from the proper sites (SpeedFan directly from the SpeedFan website). My other programs such as Chrome never have stopped responding before though! I'm wondering if it's something to do with the CPU? The laptop is really new though - I got it several weeks ago. The CPU is an Intel Xeon e3-1535m v6, GPU is an NVIDIA Quadro M2200, and it has 40 gigs of DDR4 RAM. I have an external cooling pad to keep things cool because it can get so hot when I'm rendering things. I doubt its a problem with the components but there they are just in case! Thanks so much!
