Hey guys, it's good to be back on Tom's Hardware after 4 years of absence. Now I'm back on my project, titled Project PH03N1X, which will be my biggest overkill custom build yet. List (subject to change) is here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mNTRWX
RGB-enabled components:
Motherboard: ASUS ROG X399 ZENITH EXTREME (Aura)
GPU: ASUS ROG GTX 1080 Ti STRIX OC Edition (Aura)
RAM: G.Skill TridentZ RGB (4x8GB)
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Tempered Glass Edition
LED Strip: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe 2 meter strip w/ RGB Adapter (for Aura)
AIO Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62
Fans: 2x NZXT Aer RGB 140mm
RGB Controller: NZXT HUE+ RGB Controller
My concern so far is how synchronization will work out for this build? I'm aware that I'll eventually have to use 2 software packages; Aura and NZXT CAM, to control all RGB components. The motherboard has a 12V RGB Header and an extra 5V RGB addressable header. So I'm thinking to use the 12V one for the 2 meter LED strip and chain it with the Phanteks case for external illumination using the Phanteks RGB adapter. And probably use the NZXT Hue+ for controlling the NZXT Aer RGB fans, will the CAM software be able to synchronize the Kraken's RGB along with the RGB fans? I think the fans will be connected to PWM CPU headers + USB 2.0 for each. Along with another USB 2.0 for the AIO Cooler. But what can I do with the extra 5V RGB header?
Am I right about the wiring configuration? I know there are Aura-enabled Cooler Master Fans known as MasterFan Pro, but I'm not sure how will it synchronize with other Aura-enabled components if the 12V header is already taken by the LED strip and case illumination.
Sorry for the long post, thanks in advance.
