Hi,

I have 4K screen that is able to do 60Hz on 4K through DigitalPort. Works fine until I plug in (using HDMI cable) my projector.

4K screen becomes 30Hz and I can't find an option in Nvidia Control Panel to change it back to 60Hz and projector seems to be either working at 30 or 60Hz. It kind of changes, it's hard to explain.

I'm now testing it with FRAPS, but if I change my primary screen to projector all the icons on the desktop are going to be scattered and I really don't want it to happen.

Both are plugged to the same GPU (I have SLI setup).

Projector is: InFocus 116.

Is there a way to make them both work at 60Hz? When I unplug the projector, 4K screen becomes 60Hz again.

Solution
You don't actually mention the GPUs, and SLI would make no difference, but it is likely that it can't output the bandwidth to do 4K and another screen at the same time, so it defaults back down to 30Hz.

If you had HDMI 2.0 on both screens and the GPU, maybe you could do it.

Sadly I have no way to replicate your setup since I don't have a 4K display port screen.

Maybe not:

Maxwell based cards: 5120x3200 at 60Hz = ~1Bil pixels per second only on display port

3840x2160x60 = ~500mil pixels per second

Conceivably room for another 4K display at 60Hz, but the math doesn't quite work out. I think with anything beyond a single 4K screen you are going to be limited to 30Hz, probably by design.

4K screen is connected through DigitalPort 24/7. 30Hz HAPPEN when I plug in projector with HDMI to the same GPU.
