Projector color distortion

I use my laptop to project PowerPoints for my sessions and I am having difficulty with d color, especially green when projecting. I connect my laptop with a Mini DisplayPort 1.2 to a VGA cable. The colors are vibrant on my computer screen, but do not project well, making it difficult to see charts. Is this a PowerPoint problem, or does it sound like a connector problem with the dongle connector?

Doubt it's anything to do with power point, if you have an adapter that is the first thing to check on. Are you using different projectors and do they all have this same color issue?
