I've got someone asking for a windowed "Transformers" build. She wants as much of the build as possible to exude the theme of Transformers. I've a few cases I can use for the them, a Cougar Conquer or this In-Win H-Tower that had a blown motor and never picked up after repair would work, but the CPU cooler is a bit of an issue.

The first thing that popped into my mind for a "Transformers" CPU cooler was the design on the top of the Prolimatech Megahalems. I've got a couple of them sitting in a closet with some Sanyo Denshi fans that were in some old trade-in PCs, but I've no clue as to how well they would work with a modern Intel CPU. Prolimatech's CS hasn't been that helpful. I also need to know if I should get some new fans for it or if it is capable of dispersing the heat while fanless.

I could also put in a Cooler Master V8 GTS. That would probably fit the theme as well.

What say you?

It's still a very good cooler. all it needs to be socket 115x compatible. To keep up with visual theme would require couple of RGB or lighted fans.
Despite it's looks, Cooler Master V8 GTS is not as good but should do for lower core count like i5.
The Megahalems was mounted to a 1156 board so it won't be a problem. I've got some Red LED fans I was thinking about using. While I think of red and blue for Tranformers since I grew up on the cartoon in the 80's, I think most people visualize Bumblebee from that first movie now. Should I use some RGB LED strips and try to go yellow instead?

The Cougar Conquer is an Open Air case and the H-Tower shifts into one as well. Do you think the VR GTS wouldn't be able to handle a i7-9700k in that scenario?
