How to Promote a Backup Domain Controller to Primary Domain controler Without a Primary Domain controller present.

When I try to do it through Server Manager it gives me this message a message saying: "...Cannot find Primary for XXX. Continuing with the promotion may result in errors when XXX's old Primary comes back on line. Do you want to continue with the promotion?

What are this consecuences of promoting a backup DC to PDC without a Primary present at the time?

Thank you very much.

You cannot have two PDCs on a domain. The warning message
you are getting is simply letting you know that. If you
promote a BDC to PDC, and then the first PDC comes back
online, there will be a conflict.
If you no longer have a PDC (Server crash, etc.) there is
no problem.

Hope this helps!
