Hello, I recently Upgraded my Motherboard to a Asrock 990FX Killer. However, I made a mistake and accidentally disabled legacy ports or a setting that has made me unable to access my mouse & keyboard in the Bios or before I can start Bios. Therefore I am trying to do a CMOS reset.

Normally the Jumper is places on Pin 1-2, I am under the impression that to do a CMOS reset I should:

1) Unplug my power cord
2) Move the jumper to Pins 2-3
3) Wait 5 seconds
4) Move the jumper back to its original position (pin 1-2)
5) Plug in power cord & turn on the pc

Am I wrong to assume this? I see a lot of threads of people swearing to remove the battery and do something with a screw driver. Please let me know.

Solution
That should procedure work fine. Some folks (like me) also remove the CMOS battery because that is how we did it in the "old days". On modern boards, simply short the CMOS pins and you should have a factory restored BIOS.

Going to Try these steps tomorrow unless anyone mentions that I shouldn't
