Proper Motherboard Choice

Greetings,
I have a dilema involving a motherboard fitting a case. I am a first time builder and I believe the standard ATX format is 9.6 by 12.0. This motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293 is an inch short (8.6). So the final question is, will it fit this case: http://www.corsair.com/us/pc-cases/vengeance-series-gaming-case/vengeance-c70-mid-tower-gaming-case-gunmetal-black.html properly? Even if it does will it be sturdy? Or would this motherboard be better: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157295&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=? Go with the extreme 4 if it has all the ports and slots you require. Atx is a standard adapted by all case makers to position the mounting holes of the board. The actual dimensions may vary slightly, but the asrock mounting holes for both boards you linked will line up fine with your corsair case. The vengence case is plenty big to work with any atx or micro atx motherboard. Test your motherboard first before mounting it on a non conductive surface, such as a cardboard box or breadboard with just the cpu/cpu heatsink, one stick of memory, and onboard video. Leave your power supply out of the case so the leads can reach the board easier. Once you get a post screen, finish installing the other ram sticks and check for any extra standoffs in the case that don't line up with motherboard mounting holes and remove them. Then press the backplate (i/o shield) in place so it's square, and remove any metal tangs from the backplate that block or may touch your motherboard ports. Then mount the board inside the case and use 5-9 screws to secure it, which varies from board to board. If one screw is blocked by a ram slot, then don't try to force a screw in. You can leave the blocked slot empty. You don't have to use all the mounting holes; 4-5 is all you need if the others are too hard to reach. Good luck.
