Proposed New PC Build – Comments, Please!

Hello! I am getting together a list of parts for a new PC build and would like comments, feedback and advice. I want to be able to nimbly process video clips with Photoshop (19.0.1.29687) in the Motion workspace and Bridge (8.0.1.282) in Filmstrip view. Please flag anything that is suspect. System Usage from Most to Least Important: Photoshop, including 3D rendering and video clip editing/rendering, photo retouching. No games.

Are you buying a monitor: No. My existing Monitor NEC PA242W at 1920 x 1200 dpi is fine.

Parts to Upgrade: It’s a new build. Only reusing a Cooler Master HAF 912 case, Keyboard and the monitor

Do you need to buy OS: Yes- Windows 10 Pro 64-bit – OEM (incorporates BitLocker)

Additional Comments: I would like a quiet PC. Using MS Office Apps, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Lightroom, Firefox.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Current main PC is three years old. Just wanting to modernize. My existing PCs (including a standby and NAS) are running Windows 7. This will be my first windows 10 PC

You'll want a better CPU cooler as the 8700K runs quite warm even on stock and may overheating while rendering, besides that the build looks good.

Thanks! I had left the cooler off the list and added that one at the last minute. Any recommendations for an air cooler for this build?

The Cryorig R1 Universal is really good, you'll want a good air cooler for the overclocking later on.

Yea it's a beastly cooler but it will work well with that system to keep it cool and will fit into that case. Also many of the high end air coolers are much quieter then the AIO water coolers so its a good choice.

Oops- hit a snag. I notice in the manual for the MAXIMUS VII HERO there is no PS2 port on the rear panel I/O. Nothing in Advanced > APM about powering the PC ON from the keyboard. My previous three builds allowed me to set Ctrl+Esc as the key combination to power up the systems.

Does anybody here know of any way to start up the PC based on this motherboard from the keyboard? I don't want to have to reach under my table to power up the PC every time after years of having the luxury of doing it from the keyboard!
