Hi all!

I've had my current system since 2012 and it does what I need. The most resource intensive games I play are Star Wars Fallen Order and Mass Effect Andromeda. So a budget/mid upgrade is fine, I don't need top of the line.

Unfortunately my system is not compatible with Windows 11 so I need to upgrade.

My proposed upgrade is
1. Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk MAX WiFi

2. CPU: MD Ryzen™ 5 9600X

3. RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5 6000MHz

4. GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 5060 8G Shadow

Is this a good proposed system? Anything I've missed or should look at instead?

Also I have some old components I proppse to re-use including my SSD and HDDs, but had two big questions:
1. Would my ToughPower 650W PSU be enough to run the above?

2. Would my old Asus GeForce GTX 1050 Expedition OC 2GB GPU work with the above CPU, RAM, and motherboard?

Thanks very much in advance!!!

Is there some feature of W11 that you want or need right now?
Consider keeping your W10 system so long as it does the job for you.
Losing support does not mean that you can no longer run. It means that new windows features will not be incorporated into W10. Yes, you will still be bugged to update.
As to security, windows defender and common sense browsing practices should keep you safe.
And.. you do nave an external backup if you should encounter a virus or ransomeware, don'tyou??

To answer your questions:

1. 650w is probably not what you want. Modern graphics cards can have very high peak power spikes.
Look for 850w or more. Over powered psu will only use the power demanded of it, regardless of the max capability.

2. GTX1050 should work, but perhaps not for fast action gaming or high resolution.

What are your other components?

cooler
ram
