Propylon mod question

I want to remove the swirling lights from the Propylon chambers, because
they slow my computer down to a crawl. This is very annoying, because I
have a gigabyte of memory and the game runs great other than those chambers.
However, in the Construction Set, the flashing lights do not appear to be a
unique object, but members of an object (an Activator) called
in_strong_platform. I can remove in_strong_platform, but that removes a
bunch of architecture in addition to the lights.
Is there a way to get into the guts of an activator object, so I can
remove the lights, but leave everything else?

There are a few mods that do this for you. You might want to try
"propylon redux" or "begone propylon platform".

Both are available at Morrowind Summit
