I have a problem with power cuts where the power would be cut just for a second or even less, enough for my pc to restart and possibly suffer some damage in the process. i've looked into UPS systems but they seems like they would be an overkill for my situation offering 15mins+ of uptime,
I am wondering if there is some device that keeps the pc running for just a few seconds.

Solution
UPS. You can find some that are in a power strip form factor and only offer a few minutes of power supply at most. Though those models are usually the lowest end and not well regarded.

No, you need a UPS. Other power strips and such won't help with power cuts, only minor surges.

Here's a pretty good article that will help you find one: https://www.howtogeek.com/161479/how-to-select-a-battery-backup-for-your-computer/
