Proxy from college

Bot my son a used laptop from a college and it won't open any internet items like Firefox or Int Explorer. Keeps saying I have to disable proxy. Please advise at -EDIT- or on this forum. Thanks so much.

It will be set to access internet via the school proxy server, since we can't tell if a legit purchase, we can't help and don't post your e-mail in the open.

Do a web search on how to set proxy settings in the browser, it's different for IE and for Firefox. It's a pretty common procedure to do.
