Question Ps/2 not working

I need to install my drivers. I have installed the OS but I need my mouse now and only one works at a time. If I want keyboard I have to restart. If I want mouse I have to restart. Nothing works together. The splitter cable does not work on my asus motherboard. Some type of wiring flaw the company didn’t fix. I’m dead in the water. Help please!

I have asus rog crisshair VII hero WiFi. I was able to use my mouse and choose ease of access to use my mouse to type as well
