Hello,
Here is the question followed by info on what happened.
Will a bios boot if the PS/2 port is unsoldered and removed? and will a usb keyboard be reconized by factory default settings for cmos/bios ?

I had a computer that fell the only cables still pluged into it were the sound, mouse (USB), and keyboard. Out of all of them the only one that was to short and pulled on the connection was the keyboard (PS/2).
After this fall the system was booted up and windows didnt allow keyboard imput. The keyboard cable was pushed back in (the PS/2 port was ajusted some since the fall pulled on it) then the system rebooted. The bios startup screen showed as normal and then the screen went black, monitor saying no signal.
Some times depending on how the keyboard connector is wiggled before booting the bios screen will show for a split sec then no signal again, 98% of the time nothing just a black screen, a few times the system would beep repeatedly for a sec then just sit there no signal on monitor still.
So im thinking of removing the PS/2 port to see if this lets the system boot up
