PS/2 vs USB 2.0

I have the steelseries 7g keyboard and my PS/2 - USB converter it came with broke. I don't care if the keyboard is hot swappable or not. Is there any difference in terms of latency between ps/2 or usb 2.0? If usb is faster i can grab myself a gold plated converter. Which should i use? ps/2 or usb?

This is for gaming.

I'd always go for PS/2 as the keyboard is guaranteed to work in the BIOS screens -- and frees up a USB port.
