PS2 Controller on PC

Hey guys,
I just got NBA2K Playground 2 and I'm super hyped to play it, but for some reason I'm unable to play the game with my two dualshock 2 that are connected with USB.
The game is allowing me to play only with keyboard, and this problem doesn't happen in other games (I played Injustice 2 without any problem).
Any advices?

The game might not support the controller, probably can't detect it
If you have a PS4 controller you could use that, Windows has really good support with PS4 controllers
