PS2 Error in reading disk.

So I wanted to play some games on my old PS2 (because I felt reallya nostalgic when I found it again). But there was a problem: The "Sony Entertainment" part and "PlayStation 2" display correctly, but most of the games that I tried wouldn't read. I have a Matrix Infinity 1.93 modchip which means I can play burned games, so I tried to burn Guitar Hero and Tekken 5 on a DVD-R and it didn't work. What do I do?

First, you probably have a dead laser. It's what, 15 years old now, it's gone. You could maybe find a new laser online, although beware there are about 6 different types so you'll have to take it apart to find your type.
