Question Ps2 info

I am thinking of buying a PS2 I saw one that said was working fine ,but had one problem they said when the disk drive is ejected it makes a rattling noise is it worth buying with that?Or is it a minor issue?I bought a ps2 fat from my local market today for £10.It powers on and loads disks but i don,t get a signal.I am using HDMI to PS2 Adapter. And only says this massage on my monitor *Not Optimum Recommend 1920 x 1080 HDMI*and only shows that message when a disk is in the drive.I don,t have a controller ,i understand you can use a PS3 one which i have , i plugged the changing cabal in but no lights came on the controller.I was hopeful that this Ps2 would work it is in very good condition and the only dust i could see was on fan.I can,t see any scratches on it at all.

What hdmi adapter did you use?
The issue is probably that it doesn't scale to 1080, if your TV has a setting to play 1080i or 720p then try that.
A better choice would be to have a TV with AV input.
The PS2 can't use usb controllers, you have to find a PS2 controller or an adapter.

The ps2 to hdmi converts have many problems and sound like the monitor/tv your trying to use doesn't support the res of the adapter its most likely just that you need to find the res the adapter works for and get a screen the will accommodate it

The PS2 doesn't have any red ring.
It has a power led and that's it, it either works or it doesn't.

RRoD was a failure that these units would have where the output would be a red screen/ring, sometimes with a message as to something failed.

The RRoD (red ring of death) is a very specific fault case that only the xbox 360 had, it's not a general term for a faulty console.

I was inder the mptrssion the converter adapter worked with all Montors

There are loads on ebay and quite a few have been restored.

I can load a disk and all the light work on it.The tray was a bit slugish at first.

I don't think they had a name for it because these things ever only died from the dvd drive wearing out and not reading discs anymore, maybe the power button or plug disconnecting internally after a lot of use, everything else would be very rare and mainly based on extremely bad handling of the console, like very little kids throwing it around or banging on it.

My one is in very good condition with the usual dust on the fan.I can,t see any scratches on the top or bottom, it is noisy though.I have orded a controller from eBay.Hopefully i can get a picture on the screen, fingers crossed.

I got this adapter I realize the picture quality is not going to be as good as the HDMI one I put on here.

. If that does not work I will know there is a problem with the PS2. In the meantime, I have bought a silver 5003 modal. hopefully, the HDMI one on here will work on this one.

I recived that adapter today and revery thing is working fine.I will have to learn what all buttons do on the controler. That was another good find at £10 for the console.
