PS2 slim runs on 50w, add a very small power screen you are at 100, more powerfull then 125w.

Pushing a 140w inverter at 100-125 for a period of time is not desired.
Thus doubling it to 300 is more realistic for sustained and reliable use.

A car alternator will have no issues with a ps2 slim and tv as long is it is in decent shape and it did not have some cheap low amp alternator from the OEM.
People run much more powerfull audio setups on their stock alternators/batteries all the time.
Sure a 1000 watt inverter would require an upgrade to the car's charging system.

The best way I can think of would be to use a car lighter to power plug fed into a UPS to power your electronics. I'm not certain about the ability of the car alternator to run such a rig, if you got stuck in a traffic jam you run a serious risk of overheating the alternator should you keep it plugged in.

There are LED TVs rated to run off this outlet, which use about the same power as a PS2. I'm not sure if the plug can handle powering 2 such devices.

You will need at least a 300w inverter installed to the battery.
DO NOT TRY TO WIRE IT TO THE CIGERATE LIGHTER

You will also put an additional load on the alternator (6-10 amps for your use), so if you have an old alternator or if the car oem went cheap, then it could kill your alternator

300W? for a PS2 and a small screen? If he's not using a CRT monitor he should be under 100W. Close to 50W with a small LED monitor and a PS2 Slim. Although I don't know much about cars, the lighter is rated for 180W. Somebody with more knowledge of the workings of cars should state if it can sustain a lower (but still substantial) load for long periods of time. I know they are rated for 25W indefinitely, but that might be pushing the limits of sustained operation.

There are 135W Stoves for those lighter plugs, but you don't usually use a stove for an entire road trip.

Upon further inspection, headlights are rated at 65W for high beams, which can be used indefinitely. During the day you should be able to easily power both PS2 and monitor without risk to the alternator as long as you have headlights turned off.

*Note: I have little electrical engineering experience, and little automotive experience, take this as just information dug up by a skilled googler.
