I want to get Turtle Beach PX22 headset to use with my PS3. The instructions of the headset tell me to plug in my PS3 RCA cables into RCA splitter cables that come with the headset, then connect the HDMI from PS3 to a monitor, and then change sound output settings to "HDMI" via PS3 menu. As shown here: http://support.turtlebeach.com/kb_upload/image/Kb_830516342_PX22_HDMI_Setup.jpg
The sound output part I saw on YouTube.
However, my monitor only has VGA & DVI so I need to use an adapter to get HDMI. My question is: would I be able to get sound through the headset if I use HDMI-DVI adapter on my monitor (that has no speakers) and just put the red & white RCA cables from my PS3 into the headset's RCA splitters?
Since I dont play my PS3 on a TV, plugging the red & white RCA's into a TV and getting sound through that is not an opton.
