i was wondering if running the ps3/ps4 audio output through pc microphone input would work for getting the audio out my pc speakers.

Solution
No, it would not. You could get a red/white to 3.5mm adapter to plug straight into the speakers for your PS3, but the PS4 can only communicate over HDMI or Optical.

If your PC has a speaker input, you could passthrough audio that way for the PS3 using the above method, but it would give you a lot of noise/bad quality. Most PCs don't have HDMI input though, so you're SOL for the PS4, unless the sound card on your PC has an Optical Input port (Most have Optical output), but you'd still be subject to the possibility of lots of noise/bad quality.
