ps3 controller doesn't charge on PC

I went through every usb port already and did everything according to this forum : https://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/32714-ps3-controller-not-charging-windows-10-a.html. However, "HID-compliant game controller" does not appear anywhere. Can you guys please help?

I only have one mini b to a usb cable which is my current ps3 cable. Just ordered it along with the controller and im not sure if it's fake or not, ill buy another one. In the mean time, is there anything else i could check?

the only thing you can is if you do have a PS3 you can see if it charges when connected to it. some USB cable's i try to use with playstation controllers will not charge with it whether it is connected to a PC or a game console

thx a lot. Should've have bought xbox controller and be done with it. Any way, there's another case with this aswell on my post in linustechtips. The guy said that his usb cable only work with his console, which i think is kind of a dick move by sony really
