Hi,

I'm having trouble connecting my PS3 slim 160GB to my new Samsung S23B300. I've tried resetting the console with my finger on the power button for 6-10 seconds with the two beeps with no avail. I've tried "rehandshaking" both devices as well. I've tried hooking my PS to my CRT tv while connected to the monitor just to see if I can manipulate the settings of the video but it also yields no results.

My monitor is HDCP compliant as well. It can also handle a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. I did my research before buying everything. It's driving me crazy because my theoretical setup should work.. :pt1cable:

Can anyone help me out? I'd hate buying a new tv as I just bought my monitor 2 days ago which took me a lot of time to save up for.. 🙁 It costs 200 USD and a new TV here costs 375 bucks

So your saying connecting the PS3 to either TV doesn't work? Can you watch other things on both your monitors? If you can use them for DVD players and TV, it probably means there is a problem with your PS3 because it isn't outputting any video. If your PS3 is under warranty take it for repair or replacement.

You said auto scan right but have you tried MANUALLY setting it to the correct port? when you do the power button thing on the PS3 IT has to search for the correct connection and IF it is not on the correct port, IT will not see it. So basically you are doing it all backwards... If all else fails hook it up to a TV AND the Monitor at the same time (assuming it recognizes the TV) then set it up through the TV via the HDMI/Component/AV(aka Composite), then manually set the computer to the DVI or whatever port you want to use and when you go through the setup on the PS3, after you select the device port the TV will go blank for about 30 seconds and SHOULD show up on the monitor. that however is the long way of doing it... the same is accomplished by that pressing power till you hear 2 beeps, the issue is, it still gives you the 30 or so seconds. either way, the MONITOR has to be on the correct port for the PS3 to see it...
