PS3 Reading VIDEO Folder but not the files.

Hello. My 1.5 TB Seagate USB2 was getting full. I got a 2TB Expansion Drive USB3 , formatted to FAT32.Loaded files into the VIDEO folder. PS3 Sees the folder "VIDEO" does not see any file inside. These are the same files copied from the 1.5 drive. It is driving me crazy . I have never had an issue getting a usb drive to work on ps3. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks.

try loading them to root folder instead of inside the video folder or try connecting the drive to a pc and testing the drive. My ps3 stopped registering my files a few month back and 3 days later the drive completely died.

When I do that I get the same no file message.. On the 1.5 tb drive when I click VIDEO all files start to pop up. The 2tb seems to work fine when plugged into the pc. I'm wondering if

1) usb3 is the reason this isn't working?
2) Do the rpm of the drive have an affect? I think the one that works right is 5400 as opposed to the other which I was told is 7200?

Other than those two differences everything else >File structure>format etc are all the same.

Usb 3.0 doesn't matter, it's backwards compatible.

RPM doesn't effect it.

Do the videos show if you plug them into a computer?

Also, ps3 doesn't show any videos it can't play such as .MKV

This device works fine on the pc. The same files are all working on the other device 1.5tb plugged into the the same ps3

What brand is the hard drive? Some need special drivers to work on a certain OS.

(E.g For Seagate external flash drives, you have to run a program in order for your files to display on Mac OS X Mavericks)

Also, have you assigned a drive letter to the external hard drive?

Have you followed all these steps?

Dude, I know what I am doing. If you don't know the answer please stop posting to my question.I have already told you I have a drive that works, I am no stranger to doing this. I have already told you it is formatted exactly the same.I have already explained what is different..

just curious if you ever found a solution because i am experiencing the same hell that you went through and am finding no answers either. thanks
