PS3 to Asus monitor HDMI

I recently bought a brand new ASUS Monitor with 2 HDMI inputs. I wanted the two hdmi inmputs so that i could play my ps3 on the same monitor as my PC. The ps3 was working fine for the first week or so, then one day it froze, so i turned the system off manually. When i turned it back on, the video output was just a black screen. I tried resetting the video settings on the ps3 by holding down the power button until i heard 2 beeps, but that didnt work. The ps3 works on my TV, but still wont display anything on my monitor. any suggestions on how i might fix this problem?

Try another cable, try plugging it into the other HDMI port on the monitor. Finally, call Asus support, they will replace the unit if an HDMI port is not working on the monitor.

yeah the monitor works fine with my PC, Ive even tried switching which input its connected to. its not the HDMI inputs or the cable

Which Asus monitor? There might be a procedure to reset the monitor to default or even an option in the menu.

yeah i was trying to figure that out earlier, but i lost the box and it doesn't say anywhere on the monitor itself

still nothing. i really dont think its the monitor. there is still technically a display, its just all black.

When plugged into the monitor, did you try holding down the power button untill it beeps twice?

Just had to be sure you knew the process. At this point it can only be two things. 1 the monitor configuration does not work with the ps3 video codec. Or two the ps3 is using a setting the monitor is not compatible with.
