Hey

For the past 3 hours I've been trying the connect my ps3 to my LG TV, but so far everything I've tried has failed.

I have tried multiple HDMI Cable but I get no video or audio, only No Signal.
I have tried composite cable and I also reset the ps3 resolution (hold power button until second beep), but I only get sound, It still says no Signal.
I've done a Factory reset on my LG TV but i hasn't changed anything.

I've successfully connected my ps3 to my friends SONY Tv using both HDMI and Composite cable.

I have then tried to connect my laptop through HDMI to see if the ps3 was damaged, but it gave me "No Signal", so it must be the TV.
I've tried changing the resolution in the display and graphics driver settings but no luck.

Its been working fine a few weeks ago, but now it not.

recap:
HDMI - No Signal - no video and sound.
Composite - No Signal - no video but I do get sound.

Thanks for any tip, guys!

Thanks for the suggestion, but my TV does not have Simplink, so i cannot enable or disable it.

In the manual its referring to the remote, look for the Simplink button.

Under the ok button

from manual

SIMPLINK
This function operates only with devices with the SIMPLINK logo.
Please check the SIMPLINK logo.
This TV might not function properly when using it with other products with HDMI-CEC function.
This allows you to control and play other AV devices connected to the display through HDMI cable
without additional cables and settings.
If you do not want SIMPLINK menu, select “Off”.

I have disabled the Simplink and tried both hdmi and composite Cable.
I get no video and audio with HDMI and it shows no signal.
I get only audio with the composite cable, and it show no signal.

I've just tried all HDMI slots on the TV as well as switching the end of the HDMI, but still no luck

ok it could be one of three things.

1. HDMI not plugged in properly into TV
2. PS3 HDMI control conflict;
HDMI CEC (Consumers Electronic Control) allows the TV remote to power on both LG and Ps3. There might be a problem with this function, try turning this option off in the Ps3 System settings.
3. HDMI switch board inside TV is faulty according to your test with a laptop

Try putting a bit of pressure inserting the HDMI plug. It is a tight fit and may feel like its all the way in but not.

I've tried pushing it a little bit harder and the TV is definitely detecting the Input. When I change the HDMI to a different port it ask me if I want to change to the new active HDMI port, when I do, it says "connecting..." for a few seconds then it goes to no signal.
Even if the HDMI does not work, the composite cable should, but I'm only getting sound out out it.

Thanks for all the help.
I'm going to look into it a bit more before assuming that the motherboard is broken.
I'm hoping that it is just dust so that I can just dust it off.
Anyway, Thank you for all the help you've given me.

Sure, when it is fixed I'll let you know.

Unfortunately it seems that the motherboard is fried. I've done a Factory reset and a System Update but no changes. I've open up the TV and removed all the dust but no changes occurred. Luckily I have one more month on the warranty so getting fixed should not be a problem.
