I got a brand new adata 1tb external hdd with usb 3.1
It works with any device I have exept for my ps3
-My ps3s usb ports are functional,I have multiple usbs that I tested it out with
-The hdd is not corrupt and I have formated it to fat32
-When I plug it in the little clock thing at the top starts spinning and my hdd lights up normally like on my pc
-I have the 4 folders created Music,Pictures etc...
But it doesn't load it HELP PLEASE

Solution
Format it directly with Windows, don't use an application like fat32formatter just to make sure
Also, it could be that the drive is just not supported with the PS3

from what i understand the ps3 can't read a drive thats format is ntfs. if you what to use the drive you will need to back up all the data on the drive to a different drive then reformat the drive to fat32.
