So was wondering to buy tomorrow PS4 Controller white version which is here for $60 and the very reason I'm opting PS4 then xbox 360 or xbox one controller is that Microsoft stupid decision of aaa battery so here xbox one controller is also for $60 and then the adaptor and receiver we have to buy separately for $20 and then battery pack rechargeable $20 which is pretty insane....so was wondering that well does PS4 Controller works as I will be using it via a Bluetooth while pairing and mapping it by ds4....I think it should work pretty bad ass as the windows think it's a xbox 360 controller so whatever game supports xbox controller will do for PS4 Controller

OS windows 10

If you absolutely want wireless and don't want to get a wireless Xbox controller with the recharge kit which is a rechargeable battery pack and a charge cord for it (and also doesn't need a special dongle anymore since Microsoft released their wireless code for people to just use their own Bluetooth) then simply get the PS4 controller and use DS4 tool to pair and map it. If you can handle using a wired controller then get a wired Xbox 360 controller for $25 bucks from Gamestop and call it a day.

P.S. - keep in mind though that the PS4 controller has a battery life of about 4 hours max when in constant use. So you'll end up having to plug a cord into it a couple of times throughout the day if you play games for an extended period of...
The process is a lot more janky with a ps4 controller, you need a third party driver to make it work which I have heard isn't very good. So in short if you dont want to deal with any hassle just get a microsoft xbox controller, you just plug it in and it will work. If you really want a ps4 controller you can probably make it work on pc but the process wont be as easy as it would be with an xbox controller.

I think your Abita wrong on this one cuz what I have read on forums and YouTube is that with ds4 software into the picture it has become a whole lotta easier cuz it gives you the power to map PS4 meaning even games which doesn't allow controller can be done with ds4 as you just need to configure which keyboard buttons will go for which PS4 button which we refer to as mapping

Sorry mate but I think your still in a cave as yeah it was tedious without ds4 software but ds4 emulates the pc to believe PS4 is a xbox 360 controller and then your good to go

Also microsoft is known to ripping our hard earned money off So I am very skeptic to give microsoft a dime from my side....just look it this way the whole set of xbox one controller will cost me $100 including wireless receiver and rechargeable battery pack while in $60 ps4 is good to go as it has the in build battery no aa battery bulls hit like Microsoft just would need a Bluetooth to pair it wireless

I bought one and it works natively with some games, such as FFIXV. All you need is a standard blu tooth dongle. However not enough games worked natively (without the needs for DS tools or whatever) so I bit the bullet and bought the xbone contoller, and charge kit and wireless adapter. I'm happy.

With ds4 software you can play any games that supports xbox one controller or 360 or even play games that only support keyboard as ds4 is a mapping software

Also i hate microsoft for putting aa battery pack system....ps3 had introduced to us in build rechargeable battery like phones a decade ago and yet stupid stupid shark microsoft went with the same old stupid aa battery thing....fuck them i would rather prefer to not play games then buy and support xbox...die you deserve it as they were trying to rip us off

The xbox one controller which I think is better then ps4 controller in design and handling but man its costing me $100 as $60 for controller then $20 for wireless receiver and then another $20 for the rechargeable battery pack while ps4 controller in my country costs 60 bucks and then I will need just a Bluetooth and I'm done

That's all fine and good, but I like third party software when I can get a competing product that does that same thing by default. I want to be able to turn it on and have it pair and not touch it again. No installing third party this or that. If you cool with third party stuff thats ok, i'm not. I like the ps4 controller, but until it plays all games natively then I wont be re-buying one (returned the one i had to amazon)

I just plug in my xbox one controller with a USB cable. I would rather not use emulation software to make my controller work but thats just me, I know that software use to have problems but maybe its up to snuff now. As far as not liking microsoft as a company well I really dont either. However microsoft and sony would both gladly overcharge you for everything if they think they can get away with it, remember the 600 dollar ps3 when it launched?

Oh trust me, I do. I was one of the chumps that bought one day one. I did love my 60gb fat ps3 though. I like the ps4 and xbone controllers equally so since the xbone is native for all controller supported games I just go with that. Why introduce hassle no matter how rare, if you dont need to.

I know this because I have a PS4 and that's about the most I get out of it. I personally have an Afterglow wired Xbox 360 controller and use that for all my PC game controller needs and I just use free software for mapping it to keyboard for games that don't support controllers.

WARNING!!!
When you go to pair your PS4 controller to your Bluetooth (assuming you went the PS4 route) you'll need a cord at first in order for the program to get the MAC Address from the device in order to pair it but the important thing to note is that once it has been paired no, and I mean absolutely NO OTHER device can be paired with that Bluetooth receiver unless you completely unpair it from the controller in order to use it with something else but then you'll need to pair it again through the whole pairing process using DS4 tool again and that's just a pain in the ass. So remember that when you use a Bluetooth receiver/dongle with your PS4 controller that receiver/dongle can then only be used with the controller from then on.

Thanks for your input but I think I would have gone xbox one controller but it's $40 higher meaning costing me $100 including everything on it to go for wireless but on the other hand ps4 controller has in build battery and it may last only 4 hours but believe me I only game max 4 hours each day or even lesser so it's not a problem for me and the Bluetooth dongle is so insanely cheap as if it's some kids toys but good for us so why not dedicate that Bluetooth only for ps4 as it's so cheap any.....I'm gonna get $1 Bluetooth and best Bluetooth dongle here is for max $5

Then you get the PS4 controller and Bluetooth dongle and use that dongle only with the PS4 controller and use DS4 tool to pair it and enjoy your PC gaming with your new PS4 controller. I would recommend getting a dongle that's not as cheap as $1 and spend about 5 to 10 dollars on a decent one so it doesn't shit the bed on you.

I would recommend a dongle from ASUS, Logitech, or TrendNet. And I would recommend that it be class 2 and no cheaper than 10 to 15 dollars. It will never quite on you and will always work for a long time to come.

But in the end it is your choice as to what dongle to get and how much you spend on it.
