I'm trying to use my ps4 controller with windows 10, but it is only recognizing it as an audio device. steam doesn't recognize it so I can't use steam controller support and DS4 and InputMapper don't recognize it either. The only thing that recognizes it is my PC itself, but it just shows up as an audio device. I am wondering if there is any fix for this problem im having

well, it does have a speaker built in... You aren't alone in this problem. How are you connecting it?

Have you got the latest BIOS and motherboard drivers in your PC? It could be it just doesn't know what the device is.

Im just connecting with USB
Ill try updating my motherboard drivers.
From what it seems all problems similar to mine are pretty recent so it might just be a bug in a recent update if that is possible

Go into Device Manager, under Human Interface Devices, you may have to enable the "HID-compliant game controller" driver.

I think my DS4Windows bugged out and left it disabled or something, or it got disabled when I was messing with my BIOS - either way, this fixed it for me :D
Found the solution from a github fork of DS4 Windows:
