Ps4 frequency out of range

Okay so I have this old gateway monitor that I just hooked my ps4 up to. This monitor is from 2010 or 2012 or so I believe. I bought a DVI to HDMI adaptor so I could plug in my ps4 to this monitor. The screen initially was dling something that made me feel successful but now the monitor says "frequency out of range" so, Id like all the help I can get because i basically have no idea whats going on. Thanks!

Check monitor for a button or onscreen menu for Autoset function, most monitors have it.
