PS4 on a 144hz monitor?

So I'm a pc gamer and I'm planning on buying a ps4 since most my friends play on there and I want to plug the ps4 into my monitor, which is a 144hz. I know that I'm not going to hit 144 fps since ps4 is limited to 60, but im wondering if there is any other drawbacks to using it?

You'll actually be better off using the monitor over a HDTV as the input lag is much less. Before I got my 4K TV I was using my PS4 on a 1080P/144hz monitor (Asus VG248QE) and it worked quite well. If I was into competitive FPS then I probably would of stuck with the monitor over the TV.

Doesn't really matter unless you have a totally crappy tv. PS4 is limited to 60HZ or 16.6ms. If you have a TV that has input lag less than that number, than your golden. My TV is around 30ms with game-mode off and 17.8 with it on.

Yea my TV is complete poo... Its from 1998 and my family is too stubborn to get rid o it

You must have one of those Sony Trinitron! That has like zero input lag if you can find one that is 1080i. Most from 98 are still 480 RCA.
