My HP monitor that I've had for 2 years died today. It was a nice monitor...had VGA, DVI, and HDMI w/ built in speakers.

But again....it died! I ended up getting two new Dell E2214H monitors at the TigerDirect store today with a dual screen mount. I started feeling like a boss with my new 2 monitor setup when I felt the dread of no HDMI port to hook up my PS4.
I found blogs and such saying that I could just use a HDMI to DVI convert. So my challenge right now is finding a way to play my PS4 hassle free of having to swap cables all the time.

You guys think this help with my dilemma ? : http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-1-Feet-DVI-D-Splitter-Cable/dp/B00111CTLA/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1417569377&sr=8-13&keywords=HDMI+to+DVI+splitter+adapter

The splitter you picked cannot possibly transfer audio and has terrible reviews. Only HDMI and display port can transfer audio. This splitter has one HDMI female that would hook up to the playstation but the other end is DVI.

The only way to hook the PlayStation up to the monitors is to either buy an expensive audio extractor or buy an HDMI to DVI converter. The problem with the converter option is that then you have to use S/PDIF for the audio. If you don't have an S/PDIF audio device, you have to buy another converter. Overall it's a huge pain and mainly sony's fault for being so dam cheap with their outputs.

I guess you could also use the headphone jack on the controllers too but the cable has to be plugged in at all times so it's only good for headphones.

Sorry, should have been clear....my intention is only video. I do plan on only using headphones.
So the product I linked would be okay using just video?

I don't think your getting what I'm trying to say. This is what I'm trying to have it work....

Ok so it's going to go as the following

PC to monitor 1 - DVI Cable
PC to adapter - DVI cable
Adapter to monitor 1 - DVI cable
PS4 to adaptor - HDMI

The problem with this is that you can no longer buy a simple adapter. Your going to have two devices connected one monitor so your going to need something that can switch sources.

something like this

plus one dvi to hdmi adapter so that you can hook up monitor one to it.
