Ps4 to monitor

Hi,

I want to use my PS4 Pro with my Acer xb270hu. Will I need an active or passive hdmi to displayport adapter?

I was looking at this one, just wanted to confirm it will work before buying

You won't need it, that monitor has an HDMI port.

I think im missing something here mate. All you need is an HDMI cable that supports "Hi Speed" to display in 4k (or 1440p) at 144Hz ?

On a PS4? I think their issue is that they don't know if the monitor has an HDMI port or not (Which it does).

That monitor actually doesnt have an HDMI port mate, just 1 x Displayport. It doesn't come with speakers and it uses DP purposely to achieve 1440p @ 144Hz.

TBH, Its just not designed to be used with a console bud !!!

I own that monitor, it only has DP. Xb271 does have both however.

Also doesn't have speakers.

That DP to Hdmi cable is only one way, DP to Hdmi. Need an two way adapter which are expensive.

No, (for the third time ) it doesn't have an HDMI port mate !! The 271 does, but not the 270.

Jay is correct, the link provided by ikaz would list HDMI in the Interfaces/Ports section which it does not.

Sorry for confusion. Monitor only has one DP port. Can anyone recommend an active two way adaptor.

Only other option would be to buy a cheap 1080p monitor to use with it? But then I feel like I'm losing the Pro features only running at 1080p...

Thanks, that link now worked.

Based on the other forum, it may not even work if I was to get the adapter.

Leaning towards getting a second monitor with hdmi exclusively for console gaming. That way it's sure to work and avoids all the messing around

Or just get a TV mate, that's what consoles are designed to work on and they are cheaper in 4K (although you'll be stuck at 60Hz)
