Not sure if this is the right section but like to know your opinion is it worth it to upgrade storage on ps5 will this affect something if removing the actual ssd from ps5
and putting in another one looking on buying 2TB but never been upgrading on storage on console and im not sure is it safe or not
would like to know if someone did upgrade

If it wasn't safe, why have the option to let the consumer easily replace it? Well, I guess "safe" is a relative term.

In any case, keep in mind of the following:
  • Back up all of the data you want from the console now. If you have cloud saves, make sure it's covering every game.
  • You will have to re-download/re-install all of the games, unless there's method to back up that data as well
  • You may have to provide a firmware update on a thumb disk. You can get the file from Sony's website
Note that once you upgrade to the new storage drive, the contents of the old drive may be unusable period. Sony encrypts the storage drive data at least per console (so you can't even swap drives between consoles) and it may encrypt it based on a random key generated for a particular storage device, refusing to use the last storage it was using.
