Should I disconnect (completely unplugged from the outlet) my PS5 when not in use? Is it harmful to plug and unplug the PS5 multiple times, like 2-3 times a day?

Unplugging and plugging the power outlet can potentially cause damage to capacitors. When we unplug anything from the wall outlet, the capacitors will discharge. If we plug it in again, they will recharge.

Therefore, is it advisable to keep the PS5 or electronics constantly plugged into the wall outlet?

Is it true that capacitors can discharge when unplugged, the impact on the PS5's overall performance and longevity is minimal?

Other than wear and tear on the outlet and power supply connector, not particularly. The inrush current when you plug in a device is generally handled by the capacitors in the power supply. While these do wear out eventually, by the time this happens you will be likely replacing the console anyway.

If you want to save the standby power, get a high end surge suppressing power strip and just flip the switch on it. You should be using a surge suppressor with any expensive electronics you want to protect.

This applies to all electronics with a AC-DC power supply.

Do keep in mind that surge protectors only protect until their rated level of protection (Joules) is reached.

At which point there is no more protection.

FYI:

Also you may be tempted to plug the PS5 into a surge protector and then plug the surge protector into the UPS. Or vice versa. Do not do that.

Check the documentation for your UPS with regards to using surge protectors.

Here is a relevant APC link:

Overall plugging the PS5 into the UPS is the way to protect the PS5 as long as you remember that protection does have a limit.

Especially if you live in an area (not asking) with poor electrical service and/or frequent thunderstorms.
