Since its release, the Ryzen 1700 have been getting overclocked out of the box. But there is one thing that has been unclear even with some research, the max temp. Most people say stay under about 80-85 degrees, but no exact answer. So i sent AMD and email about the R7 1700 (which is what i have) and overclocking. Here is the email they sent back

The maximum warrantied voltages are programmed into the CPU when it is made. The maximum temperature for Ryzen 7 1700 is 75C.

For overclocking, we cannot guarantee safe operation as this action voids AMD warranty. A voltage of up to 1.55v can be used but requires very robust cooling solution (liquid cooling is suggested).

Thank you for contacting AMD.

Solution
I have the same MOBO and using the stock cooler and have the same overclock 3.7ghz on 1.2v which I say is pretty good. My fan curves are different though. I have it at 65c/100%, 55c/75%, 45c/50%, 35c/25%. I do my testing on all my overclocks on ASUS RealBench which is IMO the best for testing an overclock. I have hit stable overclocks by just using the stress test on RealBench 15mins using 4gb of RAM. My max temp during testing was around 72c. But yea I think that is a very good overclock.

Here is my validation for the R7 1700 http://valid.x86.fr/y4wf9j
Here was my previous oc with my 5820K on a Hyper 212 Evo http://valid.x86.fr/3ch83w
again I just used RealBench to stress test it and it was a rock solid OC[/quotemsg]

But what is your room...

My 2017 Rig:
tested for 2hrs...

Ryzen7 1700 - (set to 3.7ghz, 1.2V) - idle=42'c , load test= in progress
Wraith Spire - (set upto 89% - 71'C - load test= in progress
77% - 60'C - load test= in progress
70% - 41'C - avg =2200rpm in smart mode) now running in idle ...

Msi B350 Tomahawk - idle=43'c , load test= in progress
Gskill TridentZ 3200mhz 16gb(8*2) - (set to 2933mhz, 1.35V)
Msi RX 480 Armor 8GB OC - (Normal mode - idle= min 51'C, max 55'C) I don't know this temp in idle is good or bad.....
DEEPCOOL MID TOWER CABINET (ATX) - DUKASE V2
Case Fan - 1 (running at 100% = 1200rpm)
Antec f19 fan - 2 (each running at 100% = 1200 rpm)

WD Black 1tb 7200rpm
Samsung SSD EVO 850 240gb
Arctic MX-4 Thermal Compound
LG 22MP68 22" Full HD IPS SLIM LED MONITOR (1920x1080)
win10 Pro 64bit

My question is, setting 1.2V for 3.7ghz is good or bad and I will upload the load test result....
